Goddess of Magic

As always, the Trafford Centre never ceases to amaze!

Life-size marble big cats, palm trees, dolphins, guttering pipe outlets shaped as eagles...bad taste/kitsch has never had it so good.

This was the view down to the Debenhams cafe!

I don't know when it was built, but they must work hard at the upkeep, as it doesn't look shabby anywhere, that I've seen.
(Just checked...1998, but this water feature was only put in last year).

The fantasy character of Circe, 'goddess of magic', and her water nymphs.
She is the guardian of the water of everlasting life.

I could've sat next to that fountain for hours.
 How does that spurt work?
It also has colours going through it which is not too clear close up; but you can just see it on the end blob of the jet of water.

Me, doing my best 'goddess' impersonation!
My little bee ear-rings came from Laura Ashley. Aren't bees supposed to be lucky charms?

  1. Love the bees! And I've only been once to the Trafford Centre but remember thinking how tidy it was kept.

  2. Pretty earrings! I don't do shopping centres, I've only ever been in the Bull Ring as a cut through to the Rag Market. xxx

    1. Thank you.
Can't say I blame you bypassing shopping centres, most of them are pretty soul destroying.
Altho' the Bullring is 'new' it does seem to get crowded with very few people. But I really enjoy the TC - it's wild!

  3. Cute earrings!!!
I confess that I am not keen in shopping centres. I feel claustrophobic in them and need access to daylight in betweenbshops. But that fountain is impressive! X

    1. Thank you.
I do find it odd that I can now be quite content at the TC, but then I get home again and can't go out to the local shops with ease at all.
      Go figure!!
I love a good fountain, me.

    1. Hiya Rebecca. Thanks for popping by!
The dolphin fountain is pretty impressive too. It shoots a whoosh of water up about 40 feet up to the upper shopping level. Amazing!

  5. The fountain looks fun, but shopping centres give me the heebee jeebees! I'd rather be out in the air, even if it's raining. xxx

    1. I have to say I am not a fan of all shopping centres and I really don't like shopping in the rain. Soggy purchases...yuck!
