How Much Is Too Much?

Vix goes away for a month and can pack all her goodies into a wash bag!
(Well, maybe a slight exaggeration there, folks!)

Me? I'm doing 2 weeks in the UK; one 'oop North' and one 'down Sarf'.

Having to cater for every eventuality. When we left Northampton there was a layer of snow and with the ominous 'Beast of the East' due to take hold again, thought it would be a heck of a lot colder. The last two days have been magnificent with glorious sunshine. My heavy duty parka much too hot to wear. I did wear it Monday and spent the whole time feeling like I was going to internally combust!

Yesterday I just schlumped around the hotel, using the massage chair down in the spa. Bliss!

Haven't needed the CK poncho yet, but if it does rain, well, I'm covered! Quite literally!

I'm sure most of this stuff will be unpacked and unworn, but hey, a girl needs choice, doesn't she?

And those cats? Well, they just have the one beautiful fur coat!!

Hey! Don't Forget Meeee-ow!

 I'm here too!
Just catching the suns' rays while mummy's having breakfast.
Three floors up. Am I 'bovvered'?
With love from Tabby.

Holiday Cat

A very chilled out Rene cat.

We're back out on tour in Manchester, staying at The Mal again.

For all her protestations and hiding in the garden in the dark, dank area behind the gazebo, she's seems to be more than happy in her room!!

Meantime, we hit the bar...

A few chili roasted corn nibs.

Which I washed down with a Tequila Sunrise.

Meanwhile, Mr B had a Mimosa, mainly so that I could try it!

Two empty glasses! Oh yes!

Grrrr Fur

I'm trying to work out if this a good idea or not!

I bought this shorty, hooded jacket years ago, at Jennifer Browning, in Harrogate. It cost me a pretty penny, in the days when I was earning and, to be fair, it's had a decent amount of wear.

Then the 'lightbulb' above my head lit up a couple of years ago.

I was too big to still wear it, but, if I removed the sleeves and sewed them into the side seams, maybe, just maybe, I could turn it into a gilet-y sort of thing.

Sew far, sew good! Might even make Lakota's 'Ta-dah! Tuesday'.
Now, that would be something!

Just to finish, a photo, (from here),of The Cramps and the wild Grrrr Fur Dixon, 2nd left.

Heavy Horse, Heavy Heart

I don't know if any of you watched the Martin Clunes' programme last week on ITV?

When I saw that it was on I said to Mr B that I bet that either my mate or Rob would be on! Ha ha..

...I remember Rob when he was this young!
(Photos from here)

Well, it was fine for the first few minutes until they showed a shot of the farms' name on a wooden plaque. Mr B came in from cooking the dinner to find me sitting on the sofa bawling my eyes out!
"It's alright" I blubbed, "Just bringing back such happy memories."

It became a part of our two week Summer family holiday, for several years. We'd travel down and stay at a b&b in the New Forest, making sure that the middle weekend was that of the Ellingham Show. I got chatting to the Sampson family and became pen pals with one of their friends. I got to parade one of their yearlings around the parade ring; never to be forgotten as he spooked at a pole on the ground and stepped back onto my foot! Cue a very black toenail that eventually dropped off!

They used to do a Farm Working Day and my mate, John, taught me how to plough with 3 of these mighty Percheron beasts, quite likely the ones in the photo above, shown here with Mr Sampson, Tom, Robs' dad. A better man you could not find. There is a fabulous piece about him here.

I do have a photo somewhere, so will try to find it. The only photo I have found so far from around that time is the one below of me on Puffin at the 'ranch' that I spent one of the weeks at. Western riding through the New Forest. Believe me, that's as good as it could positively get! Bliss! And I came away with my Basic Western Horsemanship Certificate too!

Oh, happy days!

Colour Of The Year

This has been deemed, by those 'in the know' as The Colour of the Year.

My bargainous Essie nail varnish, Turquoise & Caicos, about a fiver in a pack with their ridge filling base coat, from TKMaxx.

'In the flesh', so to speak.

The sky this early morning was not as blue as it looks in this hastily taken, sleepy-eyed, photo.
It really was the colour of the year...a green sky!

Spooky!

Ponies In Coats

I love horses and I used to knit a lot.

Therefore I guess this photo I found, from Visit Scotland and in particular, the Shetland Isles,
 = my perfect combi photo!

They almost give Peregrine a run for his money!
