A Bench With A View

This is the view of Hong Kong Harbour, that Mr B has from the back (front) of the Cultural Centre where he is working.
Not bad, eh?

I'm still doing fine, which is great! Sent off paperwork today, that has been sitting in 'the to do' tray for months, if not years! So, that's another 3 things to tick off The List.

Took myself into town again. Well, I had to post the letters having finally got them in envelopes. With stamps on too!

They are forecasting SNOW again over the northern parts of the country and just when I was contemplating putting my big coat away. That's it....it's all my fault!!

So, keep warm and safe wherever you are this weekend. Have a good one!

Life Is Good

Baby steps, as 'they' say, is my way forward. Doing too much when I'm on a roll, means I 'crash and burn'- and end up spending the next day absolutely knackered! But I am getting better and doing stuff in little sections.

I have been lucky enough to start receiving help from a Support Team. My girl is brilliant and a real inspiration. At last I feel there may be light at the end of the tunnel!

I took myself into town today, for no particular reason. Invariably, I find myself in a corner, having to get out to pay a bill or something. Sometimes this is OK, sometimes it needs a call to someone to explain my 'situation'. For all intents and purposes, if you met me, I would appear 100% and fully-functioning. But that's on a 'good day'. The days of being a 'good day' when I've managed to bring the bins in (!), seem a different Life away, (hurrah), but there is always that shadow of un-nerving-ness, in the back of my mind.

But today, I went into my favourite coffee house. it was fabby. Manuel made my cappuccino and wrote "Nice 2 C U" on the top! How sweet was that? We met years ago when he was a Barista at Nero's. Several years ago he made the break and opened his own cafe, "caffe d'italia". And the rest is history! I haven't been in for ages; I need to feel confident to be there. It is always full of huddles of Italian men (!!), who look like they are Northampton's answer to the Mafia! Well, not really, but you get the gist! Don't get me wrong, they are all friendly, keep themselves to their selves. But, still...

It was the same with swimming. I used to go really often, but then the hotel got loads of 'gas men' and the pool would be full of blokes, lolling around in the jacuzzi forever! I ended up going less and less and then not at all. So, having got there last week, there are no more 'gas men' and I do love going there. Not a lot of swimming, per se, but lots of moving around in the water. And the jacuzzi!
So, hurrah for me! I'm sure there will be 'blips' but that is all they are. Blips! Go Zo(e)!

Shoez - but not as you know them

Just had a phone call from Mr B on his way to their hotel. A safe flight...now I can relax!

I went onto my blog and looked at Belinda's blog and then meandered onto this, (as you do!), Jardelle's "90 Most Strange Shoes". Oh boy, I have very nearly cried with laughter and swooned at the beauty of some of these 'shoes'. So, without further ado...

This is SO not right. (And the filthy mare didn't even poop and scoop!)

But this is too cute for words.

A sad Interlude in memory of those poor, poor horses at Newbury yesterday. That very nearly made me cry at the sheer horror of it. Yes, if it had been people it would have been terrible too' but it wouldn't have made me teary-eyed. But horses, really beautiful racehorses, that upset me. I know racing has its' fatalities, and that is why I'm not fond of jump races, but, Christ, these 2 poor buggers didn't even get onto the racecourse. End of Interlude.

I know my toes sometimes need a sort out, but hey, are you mad?

And to finish...what could be better on a cold winter morning than slipping your feet into cosy slippers? Rat slippers!

On Me Tod

I've just waved off Mr Blossom, on the first leg of his journey to Hong Kong.

On the train to Birmingham New Street. Then a Company coach to Heathrow. (What do you call a collective of theatre technicians? Answers please...). Then several hours on a plane to Hong Kong. Work, eh?

I Got A Depot Card! Part 1

If you want to know what I'm on about, start at 6 minutes in.

I got a depot card for my wonderful parcel from TCakes.

Thank goodness I could go and pick it up personally and not a 'Ray' in sight!
See the clip in Part 2.

Give Us A Giggle!

Carrying on from this post, here is an almost follow on video. Apparently, the dog is called Tomahawk and, although boxers are my favouritest canine, Tomahawk is a bit of a beaut!

The cats try to do their very own version...they go out in the garden, have a 'dig', then come back in on the bed and leave little bits of ick everywhere! Nice!

I will get back into my and your blogs soon. This is the first day in a while that I've had a chance to just 'slump'. Trying to get the flat back to reality after Christmas, and then having a very cold week away in Plymouth and back to an appointment with Dr Death and my GP. It doesn't sound much to cope with but two appts in one week is as much as I can manage! The mind is willing but the body cannot keep up! Still, it is beautifully sunny today and that is just lovely.

A BIG thank you to Teresa (TCakes) for my wonderful parcel. Ooo, I was so excited!!

Nearly the weekend...have fun!
