Do you see what I see?

Now, I know about reading tealeaves. In fact, when I was a child I had mine done; and they were scarily accurate. (Even though I have never drunk tea. I just made a cup, swirled it and tossed the liquid away!)
But do you see a Canadian maple leaf in the bottom of my mug?
(I know, its' not the sharpest of pictures.)
I was so looking forward to the Winter Olympics, but it just hasn't captured my imagination this year, which is a shame. I'm not fussed over the regular Olympics, but ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding-I'm hooked. I can't do any of them, but boy, I love to watch. When we lived in Southsea, we used to go over to the Isle of Wight to watch the Wightlink Raiders ice hockey team. It was brilliant.

A better week this week. More constructive which is always a good thing. And it was still light at about 5 o'clock this evening. Weee, Spring may just be on its' way. (Yes, I do have snow on my garden!)

Been a bit slow leaving comments recently...will try to better.

Take care all, have a good weekend.

Stupid Cupids' Weekender

This is a phone shot of the Bantam Cock. There was a spur of the moment Bicycle Basket Bazaar there this Saturday. It is a really lovely place and we will go there again.

So, what did we buy?

A 'lurve-bread', from new face on the block, Wendy. Gosh, she's a good bread maker. This had lemon peel in and was drizzled in icing.

Sorry, what did you say? Oh, the Battenberg parcel? What, you'd like to see what it is?
My Valentine gift...a little peek then...

How cute, yet somehow disturbing!! There are some great pictures and really clever ideas using all sorts of stuff.

Mind you, can't beat one of Tams' cupcakes...yummy.

Ice ice baby

This was a dish of yummyness! Made with condensed milk from a recipe I found on http://adaywithdoris.blogspot.com/2009/12/coconut-ice.html. I had a quick look at a regular recipe-dissolve granulated sugar in water etc., and this is much simpler; but I found it does require a bit of welly in the mixing stakes. (Begone! you bingo wings!). But definitely worth it!

On a totally different level, I cannot believe that Mr Blossom forgot to tell me that the company he works for won a South Bank Show Award. I was in the kitchen faffing about at the time and he called me in to watch. So, congratulations to them.

And for all you local bakers out there, check out http://ironcupcakenorthampton.blogspot.com/.

Cupcakes at the ready!

Went to Bicycle Basket Bazaar on Saturday; will try and post some piccies of my finds!
And finally, a big welcome to my first overseas follower, Aimee. She can be found here http://agardentoremember.blogspot.com/
and is well worth a butchers. Oo, lovely, lovely things!

Oh yes...I've found out how to link and I'm gonna use it!
Have fun, Zoe x

Be pleased with the small stuff

I'm okay just feeling really c**p at the moment. Even the SAD lamp is not having a positive effect. But I did bring the rubbish bins in and do a load of washing, so that's 2 good things I've accomplished today!

I have an appointment with the 'wellbeing nurse' tomorrow, so as long as I can get out of the house to get there, that may give me the kick up the backside I need! If only it was that simple,eh? I'm very good at kicking myself up that backside, (yes, it IS really possible!!), and am forever being told not to 'beat myself up', but it is hard not. If I don't, I feel like I've given up and caved in. But sometimes that is the best thing to do...just go with it and come out the other side. So, today I am being a 'free flow Zo'!
Take care, Zoe x

Fire-eeer!

This one is for Jane (posy.typepad).

You have no idea how much we have laughed at my goof!

Kings of Leon, Kasabian...they're all the same aren't they?

Twelth Night

Christmas didn't quite happen as I had planned, although it was fab.

Did get to put out the Advent Calendars, which I haven't done in years.
This is our favourite, 'Bunny Inn'.

But now it is time to say TTFN to Rudolpha, who tends to get hidden in the spare room.

And time to tuck 'A Partridge in a Pear Tree' back behind the piano.

This was designed and made by my dad, a commercial artist, over 40 years ago.
It's nearly 4ft tall and has really come into its' own against the red wall.

So, not a lot of decs put up, not even the tree (!), but we had a lovely time.

Bye bye deccies and see you again in about 10 months!

Abominable Snow...?

Oooo! what have we had in the garden?
Not the Abominable Snowman, surely?
No, let's looky here...

...it's the abominable snowcat!
Up to her knees in the snow last night. Do cats have knees?

Or maybe a little snow leopard.

Didn't quite get to take down the gazebo after the summer
(or lack of it).
I cannot believe that Mr Blossom managed to get to Brum, by train, this morning. And he is on his way back as I write (20 past 7). And bringing provisions too!
I know it is seen as a damned nuisance, but this snow sure is pretty.
Enjoy!

Happy New Year

A quick pop by by to wish you all the best for 2010.
Health, wealth and happiness to you all. (Tho' I think I'd place happiness above wealth).

Cheers!

Cheers, m'dears. Here's wishing anyone who passes by a very lovely festive time, with lots of memory making.

I have to admit I have never been entertained by medication before but thought these pink pills were a giggle the way they pop up to the top of the glass. Thought I'd live dangerously, and did the final lot in a cocktail glass as a video opportunity!

I had visit to the GP this afternoon, (under duress, as Mr Blossom was rather concerned). So am on another antibiotic. Hey ho!

Still, I am at home, with my chap and the cats. In one piece, with something that will get better, so I'm doing OK! Mr Blossom has done all the food shopping-exceeding well too, and we may get the flat looking a bit more festive, but it really doesn't matter, does it? I've been enjoying everyone elses deccies and that has been really lovely, so thank you all for that.

Have a great time,

Don't say s'not cos snots not nice

A not too good picture of my goodies from This'n'That, Totnes from the end of October!
And my first ever FQ and crafty bits from Totnes. I owe Sal (Snippets) a huge big thank you for telling us about this brilliant town and I will leave a message...one day!

This is one set of spoons from the antiques market weeks ago...

...and this is the other one, which I guess are egg spoons. (Which shows them before I cleaned them).

You see, I'm trying to perk myself up, as I am feeling rubbish in bed with a bug. Yuck! On steroids and antibiotic...eventually, as the prescription from the o-o-h Drs got lost on its way from the fax machine to the chemist which ended up with me in tears on the phone to the Primary Healthcare Trust, being a VERY unhappy bunny! The lady who sorted it out, (which took 2 hours), was brilliant but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Still, Mr Blossom starts his holidays tomorrow - hooray! Not quite 'bring it (Christmas) on', but almost.

Try and keep those bugs at bay,

Zoe x
