Travelling In Style

Tomorrow Mr B and I will be travelling in style.

A vintage bus to the Vintage Fair!

The old buses are run over the weekend as part of the Heritage Open Days, which is held across the country; lots of places not usually open to the general public are opened specially.

 *****

Been rather 'bleurgh' recently.

But, on a plus point, I got to Birmingham, on my own, to see an osteopath who has worked with me before when doing his final training. That last visit was 2 years ago I guess, and now Geoff has his own practice!

The top cervical bones are a bit 'dodgy', for want of a better term, and it is this that caused my 'migranes'. They are if fact 'cervicogenic headaches'. But whatever name they are given, I wouldn't wish it on any one!

I have wallpapered the third wall in the front room! (2 years and counting, possibly?). Just who thought it'd be a good idea to put the central heating water pipes along the top of the wall???
Arrrgh!
Just the wall with a door, pipework and a window to paper around left!!
But it'll look lovely when it's finished!

Whatever you are doing this weekend - have a good 'un!

Vintage-styled Window Sill

Now that the weather seems to be settled on 'warm', (with occasional  thunder and lightning!), it seemed a good time to put the plants from the loo window sill out in the garden.

But what to put there instead?

Two ironwork covered bottles and a whatever the pinky one in the middle is.
Oh, and not forgetting the vintage French wooden birdcage, with all its' original glass feeding bowls.

I've 'borrowed' this photo from Cherry Anne Merriman.

I got the glassware last summer from Twinset & Pearls, Joan and Jane, I think their names are??? Sorry, forgotten; but always a joy to see these two lovely ladies.

The birdcage came from Briony at the Fair the other Saturday.
Couldn't believe this picture that came with an e-mail from Jonny Loulou...one of the very same style bottles!
Never been aware of seeing them before and now they're 'trending' at JL.
Hark at my trendy interior design!!

More Power To My Shower

Big squeal!

it looks just like this without the text
Finally have our Hello Kitty shower curtain in situ.

Mr B found it in Leeds, years ago, possibly before we even moved here; because 'one day we will have a shower'. And since the refurb, as we bought one, we do. (It wasn't part of the 'general' upgrade, but they put one in if you got your own.)
FYI, got a Triton Martinique and it has been fantastic.

Wicker Wednesday

Gotcha!

During a very wet spell, on Saturday afternoon, we travelled back home in Mr Cabbies cab, a 7-seater minibus!, with this beauty...

...a Tea for Two set.

I first saw one of these years ago in Southsea. We fell in love with it, but times woz 'ard and so it passed by, with us promising ourselves 'one day, one day'. That day turned out to be last Saturday. Hurrah! It is just one of those items that fits into our small flat; no awkward manoeuvres to get it through the porch, or over the neighbours' back garden fence, (which we had to do with the piano!!). Perfik!

This is one item that actually hasn't found its way to chez Pennyblossoms! (And has since been sold).

The original glass top over a padded fabric 'comforter' and underneath a rather ugly set of drawers but with the most amazing metal curtain track fitted to the edge of the kidney shape. Now, I've never seen one with a proper track like that before. It was so cute. I'm lucky, I have one of those 'Louis-style' dressing tables with a triple mirror, which Mr B found in Chapel Street in Islington. It is my second fave piece of furniture, the first being a deco sideboard with the most amazing 'tiger stripe' veneer. Again, another hulking great big piece of furniture!

Days is open 7 days a week. 9:30 until 7pm Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 6pm Saturday and 10:00 to 4:00 on Sunday. The Pink Cafe shuts around an hour earlier.
