Heaven On Earth

Driving myself nuts trying to post from my tablet. So, just a "postcard" from Plymouth, to say 'hello' and let y'all know I'm still in the land of the living!!

(And it's taken me all week to get this done! Just how many things does it take to download just to be able to blog?)

Edible Earrings

Teeny weeny bunches of home grown grapes

Oaty Goodness

My fave 'oaty ' recipe from Lucy at Attic 24.
(And check out all her beauteous creations and colour-loveliness while you're there)

With added almond slivers and coconut shavings. Which I toasted beforehand in a skillet. Makes them so much more tasty.

A rather solid slab of flapjack!

Could find my usual recipe, which, really, I should know by heart. So, I tried one from Anthea Turner's "The Perfect Christmas" (The most pretentious video ever...worth watching for the 'curl-up-with-embarrassment' factor, but quite a nice book really!); a bargain find at TK Maxx ages ago.

This had shredded coconut in which is okay but with no timings given it was a bit-play-it-by-ear; I think if I'd put it into 2 baking dishes rather than the 8" one suggested, making it thinner, it would've been so much nicer. But it won't go to waste...these are the only ways you'll get me to eat porridge oats, so it's a pretty good breakfast meal!

I've been rather unsociable blog-wise recently. Stinky cold-type thing and feeling as though I've fallen at the third hurdle of my CBT, so not been in the best of places since coming home.

But...cooking, at least that's a start!

You Say Tomato, I Say...

The cutest little squeezy tomato ketchup dispenser.
Ever!

He has eyes, a smile and 'feet'.

And here he is with some real cousins from our next door neighbour.
Mr B ate most of them last night when he got home.

Along with pasta, I don't like tomatoes either.
(I would, sadly, make a rubbish Italian!)
So
I
would say
“So I have to find a theme that has enough meat to it - pardon the cheesy pun - for me to able to write a solid episode. That being said, one of my favourite episodes this [second] season is ‘Bitchin’ Booty Camp Extreme,’ and from last year it’s ‘The Breakup Bonanza.’ That has one of my favourite lines that I ever wrote - ‘Even if you and your ex don’t agree on the little things - like he says tomato and you say, go f**k yourself - you’ll both agree that this salad rocks.’ I love that line so much that it’s actually on a new limited edition t-shirt right now in our store. If you want to check it out, it’s a really beautiful and hilarious t-shirt.

Morning, Glory

You cannot imagine the joy this morning as I looked out of the kitchen window and saw this.
I do believe I let out a little squeal!

I have wanted to grow one of theses for years!

Ipomoea tricolor 'Heavenly Blue' aka as Morning Glory.

Its' less fancy looking cousin, convolvulace,  is treated as a weed and we get a lot growing through from next door, wrapping itself around the pear trees, which is a bloomin' nuisance! But, oh, these blue beauties...sigh, I am in love.

Morning glory is also a slang term which I had never heard of until Mario said he was 'suffering' from it when he was in the Celebrity Big Brother house!

Trust 'men' to call 'it' glory! Pah!
