A Cheeky Little Monkee

It is with a heavy heart that I post this, having just read that Davy Jones died of a heart attack, aged just 66.
Probably my first 'crush'. Saw them play live in Portsmouth several years ago, ('96?). Ah, happy memories.

  1. That is sad news indeed. I still like the Monkees, and often listen to that version of Daydream Believer on a compilation album...Always end up singing along, just can't help it!

Didn't Davy Jones used to be a horse jockey before he joined the Monkees? I used to buy the Monkees Magazine...showing my age!
Iused to go weak at the knees over Mike Nesbitt, then Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork? never did much for me though.
Mickey Dolenz lived near or in Newark on Trent, North Nottinghamshire with his wife for a while in the '80's I think it was.

I sound a right old groupie!

    R.I.P Davy.
